Conservative Trekkies stay away. Star Trek Next Generation was always my favorite. I adored the characters; Picard and his crew. They were valiant, moral and loyal. I didn't have to worry too much about episodes being ruined by something unnecessarily offensive or with an agenda. So much for that now. I have now lost my love for Patrick Stewart and have taken other Star Trek series off my que of things to watch. I have canceled my subscription to CBS All Access, just one week after signing up. The episodes used what many would consider vulgar language throughout and the very last episode eluded to a homosexual relationship between two of the characters that I had grown to like. The language and the relationship added nothing to what would have been a good show with an interesting plot and good characters. (Though they were far from the excellence of the old Star Trek movies and shows.) I just don't understand why new movies and shows makers find it necessary to add this stuff. Would they loose liberal watchers if they didn't? I really don't think so. As it is, they do loose conservative watchers like me. FYI, I have no personal hate or malice for those whose views and sexual orientations I don't agree with, but I have the right to disagree and do hold to my own views. Consequently, I avoid allowing normalization of what is offensive to me into my personal life and home. Please, movie and show producers, make shows that we can ALL enjoy with our families. You have great talent. Please don't mess it up for half the country with agenda. I don't think that would be too hard and you would not have to compromise your values. Just clean up the language and omit small unnecessary scenes that are there to make a liberal statement.
