I'm not one of those super loyal to a certain comic brand kind of people. I'll start off there, but man did Sony animation knock this out of the park! I cannot stop thinking about this movie. This is what Spider-Man Homecoming should have been. The Miles Morales Story. There were so many pieces to this movie and they were each well thought out and executed. I am a fan of the superhero movie like any guy, but this one is so relatable, so familiar to real life even though it is animation. After all, that is what true art is supposed to do; take the real world and reflect it with a splash or two of embellishing for flavor. I have gone to watch the movie multiple times now just to support the film, show that representation matters and to take notes for my own films one day! What a way to end 2018 cinema.
