\(^o^)/ hi there! thanks for choosin my review!
OK KO is a one of a kind type of show, and in the course of a little over a year, It's become my 2nd favorite cartoon. (Bar Spongebob.) I know there a lot of people out there who have bad experiences with modern cartoons. I know there have been a couple of bad cartoons and reboots recently, but this one show that really deserves a chance. As a cartoon fanatic who grew up on and adore both cartoons new and old while still discovering new favorites to this day, I can assure you this is a show you don't wanna miss. Between the animation, the character designs, the voice actors, the wacky characters and locales, and just an overall fun vibe, There's a lot to love here. There's also a plotline, but even if you don't want to get to involved with it, it's still an overall really solid show to watch. The cast and crew have made this show a love letter to cartoons and pop/nerd culture as a whole. I don't really believe a bad reboot can ruin someones childhood. Your childhood is already over, and nothing can affect it anymore, for better or worse. But a lot of episodes of this show can create a sense of nostalgia (in the best possible way) and enjoyment like rewatching your own favorite childhood show. If you don't feel like you want to stay committed to the show, I least want to recommend the episodes "Crossover Nexus", "KO's Video Channel", and "Monster Party". These are some of my favorite episodes that don't really require you to know much about the show. DEFINITELY watch Crossover Nexus. At the end of the day, this cartoon DELIVERS. If Cartoon Network for whatever reason decides to make another reboot, I want the crew behind this show to work on it, because they understand what makes each and everyone of the shows on Cartoon Network (heck, cartoons in general) unique and special.
EDIT: One other aspect I wanna talk about: the animation. I know some people call it off-model. And it TOTALLY is. However, this is a deliberate choice. A lot of the storyboard artists on this show have their own unique art style and character design they add to the show. To me, this adds another level of flavor to the show. A lot of these artists like to emphasize crazy wacky facial expressions that only a cartoon could deliver. The diverse set of artists and animators make each expression feel unique and just plain funny when compared to the others. This is by far one of the greatest triumphs of the show, and it deserves a lot more attention.
