I've fallen behind with this review as I'm already over halfway through Book 2. Dennis is infectious! The surprising story of a young lad, meaning well but seems to be a magnet to disaster. He is a glass-half-full kind of guy, always seeing the bright side regardless of what has just broken, fallen apart, or gone terribly pear-shaped in some way.
Stephen Ainley has nailed the humour in this book, and the story is written in a clear, simple, uncluttered way. It's very, very funny. I have found myself saying out loud, Ohhhh no, Dennis, is that wise? I've laughed out loud, chuckled while face-palming as I have read a story that is the work of a brilliant storyteller. This is my first introduction to Dennis Bisskit, I will be reading all four books in this 'trilogy' and I hope the story carries on well into Dennis's old age!
