Arabian Nights+Bollywood +Fresh Prince A spectacular colorful joyride of a film. Aladdin blends live action and CGI into an engaging spin on a familiar story. Will Smith is fantastic as the Genie. He puts his own stamp on the character and it never feels like an imitation of Robin Williams. The former rapper’s excellent singing voice was a pleasant surprise. My only knock on the film is some of the music and lyrics felt a too 1990s and therefore stale. For example Aladdin sings “No siree,” in two different songs. But overall this movie is a sparkling jewel, polished to perfection.
