In Willy Vlautin's books I find truth, the America of the excluded, of anti-heroes, of those who, despite all their efforts, can't make it. As a reader I have set lists that I try to respect, they favor classics and masterpieces of the past, but I admit exceptions and Lean on Pete was one of those and a very pleasant surprise that immediately won me over for the cleanliness and candor of the writing.
