It was a great series and was relatable. I think how he portrayed his parents was an eye opener. I personally grew up with two black parents and never considered having parents who could not relate and understand my culture. His parents did care and love him but they were unconsciously prejudice. Also due to his parents white privilege, he could not relate to them. His parents could not understand how he felt and why due their privilege. Neither did they try to FULLY embrace his culture and instead when they felt UNCOMFORTABLE when he tried to embrace his blackness, they made him change.
