Beautiful. Sad. Inspiring. Real. So real.
I’ve read many reviews saying how this show is about inspiring women. It certainly is, but more than that, I think it is about childhood trauma and how the way we are raised and treated in our formative years influence the rest of your lives. It’s about our internal mental health and wounded inner child, and how we then develop addictions and behaviors in light of what we lived, but also about external factors such as the roles society put into mothers vs fathers, poor vs rich, abuse vs not.
You can think of Alex as a very unlucky person. But to me she is very lucky as she has the hardest thing to have which is the right mindset. Having the ability to stay calm and collected in so dire circumstances is like winning the lottery.
Gosh I could keep going on and on about this show… so I will stop here.
Watch it.
