This film was not what I expected. Well produced, clearly presented, it successfully pushes back on the irrational, vengeance-centric punishment of damaged children & their subsequent horrific adult behaviors.
This film holds a mirror up & asks very difficult questions about well-researched causation/consequences, prevention & treatment, & what defines 'mental illness' objectively & consistently.
The conclusion is also horrific.
We don't want to know; we just want an 'eye for an eye'....that changes nothing...& is directly, paradoxically in conflict with the Judeo/Christian culture we espouse.
