What a bubbly joy to watch!! Jeanne Crain carries this movie over William Holden and Edwin Gwen. Peggy literally talks her way into the lives of those around her by getting an apartment in Gwen's house. Then proceeds into talking him into helping the GI wives needing an education. All the time, Gwen is planning his own suicide after losing his wife and son. Soon Holden and Jeanne become the family he so desperately needs along with a dog. Peggy, Jeanne, is pregnant and soon involves Gwen in her baby shower and in the lives of her friends. Jeanne Crain has such an endearing quality even though she annoys Gwen, he loves it. This movie is one to watch about friends, loneliness, aging, and young love. It has it all. You can't take your eyes off of her or her method of logic. I loved it!!
