Blown away by Pheonix. I cant help but remember Jack Nicholsons warnings to Ledger about the dangers of portraying the Joker. Even at the moments that I felt sympathy for Arthur there was an intuitive dread of evil waiting patiently to pounce and devour the innocence that remained in this broken man. Like the canary in the coal mine The Joker will be seen as an iconic film that foreshadowed the beginning of... some cultural shift.
