I gave it 5 stars because I'm a huge sports fan. Including hockey, baseball, and basketball. We witnessed men and women go through hell to prove they're the best. We heard G.O.A.Ts like Tom Brady and Michael Jordan change their minds for retirement after seeing what they are or can be capable of. Yes. This movie gives us viewers a twisted mind scenario into what actually occurs in the sports world. But it is all true. Not including the killings and bloods draws ( although if an athlete could take someone's blood to gain strength I'm sure they would. I.e steroids). The representation of each character we have all seen. The wife (trophy wife not cute but will do anything for more money), medical doctor ( willing to risk his license to keep players semi able to play or better), owners ( making the players sign a contract and pushing evil into their lives to control them), manager ( only cares about the money), potential retiree ( addicted to the game. So much will do anything to remain), the rookie QB ( trying to prove he could be legit while playing in a messed up sport), die hard fans ( we all have seen a fan beat another fan up or threaten teams), and those that would risk anything to play on the team( the guy allowing a fast ball hit his face) Wow. The ending was triumphant. Showing that the American sport was bigger than all of us. It has a voice and power of its own. Hence the man being brought into the circle. Only a true athlete, fan of the game, and those main characters I listed above understand this movie. If you don't. You don't understand the game of sports. Or the producer. I could see Spike Lee directing this film. Reminded me of one of his old films. I'm a huge fan.
