This book is a great way to open up your kids eyes to the reality of this world, in a way kids can understand. I think the message can be jarring to those adults who were never taught to question things.
Some messages from the book:
- stealing is always wrong, no matter who does it or why
- we have a responsibility to help others
- laws aren't always right. There is sometimes a difference between what is moral and what is law.
- your rights are given to you by God, not the government. This is the only place where God is mentioned, and it is easy to explain that is what many people believe, but we believe they are just inherent...you are born with those rights as a human. Boom, done. Not a big deal. Don't let the reviews acting all crazy about these books being super religious make you doubt buying it.
Highly recommend all books in the series!
