The visuals were amazing and incredibly realistic, but the movie in itself wasn’t all that great.
Mufasa’s voice being done by the same actor was a plus.
Timon, and Pumba were the best part of the movie just wished they had as many lines as in the original. Removing the ‘“if you’re aching for some bacon” song and dance and replacing it with a Beauty and the Beast reference was definitely not their smartest move and people in the theaters did respond well to it.
Scar’s musical part was confusing; you didn’t know if it was about to lead into the scene in the original or if the odd mumbling you were hearing was it, turns out the mumbling was it.
Rafiki was one of my favorites in the original, but in this remake he might as well have not had a part it was horrible.
Beyoncé as Nala was probably the worst part of the movie, and I actually love her music. She wasn’t what you expected, she needed emotions behind the voice and I think the fact that her voice is so well known did not play in their favor either, probably would have been better off with someone a little less known.
There’s no comparison to the original. This will not be a movie you watch so many times you lose count. There’s no emotions behind 90% of the voices esp Nala. Definitely a movie you can wait to watch at home vs the theater. Not worth the trip to the theater or the cost, wait till it’s ok for free.
