The origin of the Double Dragon series - a bit rough around the edges, and definitely a quarter muncher, but this game is a perfect blueprint for the rest of the series.

The follow-up to the venerable Metroid, Return of Samus is the bounty hunter's first hand-held outing. Though a little sparse feeling due to the palette limitations of the Game Boy, Metroid II is still a full-fledged adventure, and offers much of the same type of exploration that the original Metroid provided.

An enjoyable couple of hours with Stella Mironova +Metroidvania style, great music, fun pixel art -Short, simple, easy An ultimately fun but very simple take on the Metroidvania format. Good for a couple of hours of entertainment, though most of the challenge lies in just avoiding enemies and their projectiles. Good music, though there are a limited number of tunes.

Simple puzzle game with barely a story and only a few gameplay tropes. Enjoyable for an hour or so, but not much else.

An amazing continuation of the 2D Mario series. The Wonder effects add a ton of unexpected variety to the gameplay, and rarely get tiresome. The new power-ups are fun and creative, and the world is colorful and expansive. This game is a masterpiece.

Definitely an enjoyable Sonic title in the vein of the original Genesis titles. Lacks polish and shine, but makes up for it in the nostalgia hits. Worth a playthrough, and probably something I'll come back to in the future.

An excellent re-creation of the original Metroid title. Familiar, yet changed enough to keep veterans on their toes. Adds plenty of QOL enhancements as well as some nice surprises for those only familiar with the original game. Solid controls, sharp graphics and excellent level design all shine here, though the audio leaves a bit to be desired.
