Blue Oyster Cult has taken advantage of this year of being homebound! The new album is off the rails. All new material, yet managed to hold on to that classic BOC sound. The variations in the album make it one that you can sit and listen to from beginning to end without ever getting bored. As usual, they brought in elements of science fiction/fantasy into the lyrics and the band remains hard to place into any one category - hard rock? prog rock? pop? I recommend that everyone check this album (and all of their discography) out.
The album reaches back through the last 50 years of BOC while remaining relevant to today. Shout out to Ritchie Castellano for joining the lead line up with Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom.
