as much as I like Mamoru Hosoda's film's spectacles and grandiose, his movie's story always lacking a solid story , this movie almost falls apart, but I understand is a story of acceptance of love one's passing and learning what they did why they do it the MC learning the bravery and altruism of the her mother and finally able to move on while going thru journey of growing up and self discovery of her own purpose and identity in life but the romance when mc finally met the person behind the avatar beast it all became disjointed , and mc's relationship with many character in through out the movie is so blurry and ambiguous however it did come a full circle in the end , I understood why they voice act MC's sound like that is to convey many people wanted to sing but they don't like their own voice , it sounds bad to others too but MC made it to a big virtual superstars, to me, this has low rewatchability rate, it is one movie that I won't return to watch again many years later

I Remembered I watch Dune 1984 in 2018. was amazed the sheer scale of it, feeling sorry for the source material that are way vast and titanic all jammed cramped into a 2 hour movie and the special effect didn't aged well, but they tried with that they had with their budget and technology, definitely needs a reboot or remake, then end of 2019, out of nowhere all of a sudden Denis Villeneuve decided to make it happened, also who made the blade runner sequel etc so many other gorgeous film like the arrival, it seems so promising, after watching Dune 2021 the first chance I can, I was not disappointed, felt like life is complete, too bad I have too many ongoing burdens and errands I haven't solve, so I wasn't watching the film fully relaxed to fully absorb , would love to go watch again in some IMAX cinema to get the better quality cinema sound system etc , the first time I watching the cinema outside was so noisy, really vexing, if you wonder if you should see this movie in the theaters , hesitate no more, please go while it is still showing in the cinema

I didn't know this film back then, not much hype from it, it was underwhelming and not for your casual movie watchers, that's why not so famous , it will bore your mind out and make you fall asleep, pacing kinda sucks, but the mood of this movie is really something, the colour tone is interesting, I like how they crop out the skies , the MC Ash lives a repetitive life just like us all, trying to reach a special place in a fictional game world , if only this was animated just like how they animated ghost in the shell 1995 and made the story easier for the viewer to understands , but nevertheless a special gem on it's own in movie genre

This movie is great if you looking for some over the top unreal Ninja action entertaiment, should have a sequel but might ruined the story because it is over, anything else would have been dragging it and felt forceful, it has some great stunt and decent camera work, this is better than I remember, really a movie that will gave you a great time feeling satisfied and entertained, Rain and the rest of the cast gave a fantastic performance.

great movie, people don't animate anime like this anymore, the animation just pure mindblowing, they should have a post credit scene showing the Rocket that Meier Link and Charlotte reached the far away city known as the City of The Night where they can be free to love each other forever , but oh well, the Japanese back then are not very fond of post credits scene, this is the kind of movie that you should definitely watch if you want to check out the works of master animators and really appreciates good old hand drawn animation which is all smooth and in superb quality and dedication
