Emily in Paris is a very American outlook on Parisian life. I found the show very derivative where a very bubbly girl tries to take on the marketing world by having fabulous friends, dating gorgeous guys and wearing extravagant fashion which I doubt she could afford on her marketing exec salary. This show seems very unrealistic and brings nothing new to the tv. It’s very similar all the other movies and TV shows in fashion and marketing like The Bold Type, Devil Wears Prada, Ibiza etc. I felt it very done and dusted. Even the captions to the Instagram weren’t catchy or funny. Also no one is the show seems to speak French except for when they are trying to make fun of her. The lead character is the ‘so typical goody two shoes’ who seems to have high morals but still ends up doing all the wrong things. In a typical white privileged fashion everything comes easy to her and there is no character arc development. Having said all that, the fashion is spectacular (very Gossip Girl) and the City is beautiful! After all doubt that Paris will ever disappoint.
