This movie didn't speak to me as it did to some other reviewers.
I'm not bothered that it doesn't have a plot, in the traditional sense, but it comes across as unfinished.
(no progression, no story to speak of, plot lines abandoned...)
If the point was to show how even people with money have issues, it kind of didn't reach that point.
The one couple with the most money is the happiest; the one renovating the house, well they're just unbearable on their own, the splitting had nothing to do with their finances.
The Aniston character really came across as stupid or even masochistic. If the goal was that it's not people's fault that they are poor (which is true in most cases), in this case it's not like that. She kept making unreasonable decision and felt entitled; she got mad at her friend for refusing to give her money for the personal trainer course and made it look like the friend doesn't care. Then, when she offered her money for therapy (which she desperately needs), she got mad.
I couldn't sympathize with her at all.
Ultimately, I feel like the movie wasted my time, which is never a good feeling to leave your viewers with.
