The fim is about 20 minutes too long. It's basically a nonsensical "cartoon" with a lot of people queuing up to be shot by Bond and his pals. I enjoyed the scenery e.g. the Italian town, with its car chase, and the Norwegian landcape. The "evil" characters are pretty feeble and banal, ( rather as such characters are in "real life" - but this isn't "real life".) Blofeld somewhat like a tired and retired schoolteacher, while Safin was clearly in need of a healthier diet. And the new and temporary 007 seemed like a pretty dim social worker who'd been taught to run around and fire pretend guns.( And I've nothing against school teachers or social workers at all ! ) Nearly all the characters were pretty flat and uninteresting. The film was largely devoid of wit and humour and credible romance and the dialogue was "clunking". One dimensional. We lost interest about half way through, and the couple next to us in the cinema left at least half an hour before the end. The film may be of interest to James Bond film aficionados but I wouldn't recommend it to the general public.
