Very slow, all I could really take from this movie is a "disconnected" woman who was given options to return to family and travel with "new found friends" was too alienated to avail herself of elevating herself from a depressed state in late middle age post the death of her husband and the disintegration of the town she lived in.
Many of those she meets as a "nomad" are not well off, living on meager retirement funds yet traveling in their campers to experience life as nomads. Yes, there are down and out sorts also...but she cannot or chooses not to connect.
After a year of COVID lock down...this is not the movie I cared to see or ponder over. Entertainment, thought, and continued mental stimulation is what movies should provide....I need nothing more to depress me!
There are too many dichotomies and cliches in this movie to tie it together in a cogent way.
Having traveled that part of the country extensively, I feel free to comment that even the cinematography was mediocre. Badlands, Wall Drug (an amazing place) were not even shown in their interesting splendor! The "on the road shots" were as boring as the entire movie.
This movie could have been much more. Don't waste your $5.99. The other couple we viewed it with felt the same way; comments by a few neighbors were the same. I should have waited till after my movie group met for my final analysis....but I was compelled to comment after reading a five star review!
