Genuinely one of the best new Marvel movies that's come out in this recent phase. This movie is such a massive breath of fresh air for the MCU and has a pretty near-perfect blend of being stylistically different and unique but still having the Marvel feel and quality that helps you understand that its part of that Marvel universe. Probably the best part of this movie is the incredible fight choreography - it's so different from anything we've seen before and its shot so well and it makes the fight scenes so great to watch. The kung-fu influence is clear, and it gives off the feel of so many classic kung-fu fight scenes from older movies without feeling cheesy or corny, but instead building on it with creative and thrilling fistfights with depth and ingenuity that we haven't seen before in this universe. Another thing I loved as someone that's very interested in Chinese culture and stories is the way they incorporated so many little (and large) bits of Chinese mythology in a way that didn't feel like some sort of half-baked attempt at being culturally inclusive from Marvel. In my opinion the only place this film falls a little short is with some of the comic relief from Awkwafina's character who kind of just plays into this newfound Marvel stereotype of the side character that's new to this world that cracks a lot of jokes and is along for the ride for some reason, but maybe that's just me. To be fair, some of the jokes in the movie, especially ones later on that I won't spoil, were actually pretty funny and creative, and the movie was able to be a little light-hearted without going so far as to feel unserious or campy (for the most part). Overall, great movie, great story, solid characters, amazing action scenes, great CGI, very creative, and very entertaining. I can't wait to see Simu Liu take his place in the MCU in later films, he's a great new addition. 9/10
