I have mixed-ish feelings towards this show. Being a fan of Black-ish I wanted to like it, and while the actors are each enjoyable to in their roles (including Barris whose dry wit I liked) I really felt like I was being dupped with a knockoff of Black-ish and Curb your enthusiasm. What I found to be distasteful was the foul language between the parents and children in a weak, crude and vulgar attempt to seperate this show from the two aforementioned shows. Overall, if it was a show that stood on its own (that is if you never saw Black-ish or Curb your enthusiasm) you would at least be able to call it original. However, it did have some highlights in terms of laughs (Joy Barris screaming at the top of her lungs what she was willing to do if her husband did not buy Vin Desiels knock off car was hilarious as was Kenya's interaction with his white counterpart pertaining to the same car). The acting was good but at times the comparasions to Black-ish was so blatant that while watching Joy's character (for instance) I was given deja vu in the sense that it felt like the time dark skinned aunt Viv (on the Fresh Prince of Belair) was replaced by light-skinned aunt Viv ( Joy, Bow, Joy, Bow...)
