Over all this movie was great. I give it 8 of 10. I think critics really missed the point of the movie with their lack of understanding not just the history of the Alamo but the emotional aspect. This movie gives some good historical context but what it really was trying to do is give the audience the emotional aspect of what it must felt like for those men at the Alamo. You can see clearly the director was trying to have you feel the emotion aspect like you were there, wether it was during William Travis speech to the men that no help was coming or the part where Davy Crockett plays his fiddle while the Mexican army plays the Deguello which in Spanish means slit throat. You could really feel in those moments the emotion of those men at the Alamo that they knew they were going to die for what they believed in. Not only that but if you look up the history of William Travis, Davy Crockett and James Bowie they all were going through hard stuff in their personal life and defending the Alamo was a second opportunity for each one of them. This movie is great but, it’s not all historically accurate but like the director said he didn’t want just to have the historical aspect he wanted to also have the emotional aspect of those men at the Alamo and that is what makes this movie great.
