Gay propaganda movie in Shyamalans style. Being a huge fan of Shyamalan, I've enjoyed all his movies, even The Village was a bit entertaining. But, this is cringey and without logic in almost all scenes. Basically, the story is that only a gay couple can save the world from an apocalypse, and 4 random strangers kidnap them and help them to fulfil the "prophecy". It's so cliched that at scenes where you're supposed to be frightened and thrilled, you actually end up laughing and asking "why TF did he do that?" There's no logic in the kidnappers' or hostages' actions, and the hostages don't even question the kidnappers. The hostages have multiple opportunities to escape, but chose to remain hostages. Nothing is explained in the movie. Usually, Shymalan's movie endings explain everything, but nothing here. A plethora of plot holes exist. Both the kidnappers and the hostages make stupid decisions just to make the plot move. Conclusion: Looks like someone forced Shyamalan to make a Gay propaganda movie and he made something in a hurry. Not a well though out plot.

Nelson's worst film. Nelson keeps getting worse with every movie. I never thought someone could make a movie worse than Beast, but somehow Nelson has done it. No logic in any of the scenes. Several scenes copied from various English, Tamil movies and shows. Rajni is not even able to act. His body is so weak that he cannot move for fight scenes, and just stands still and moves his hands. And even when he speaks, he can't keep his mouth straight. Looks like he is too weak and old for acting. The rest of the cast is too boring and doesn't know how to act. The good actors like Mohanlal, Sunil and Jackie have barely any importance. Nelson is such a bad director that even Ramyakrishnan's acting is so bad. Only the cast and crew would advertise this as a comedy movie. I didn't laugh even once throughout the movie. Even Soori's comedy is way better than this. Nelson should seriously stop making movies. Spoiler: Irony; Rajni brutally murders hundreds of people unnecessarily, broke all the rules when he was Jailer and tortured several inmates by getting cosy with a few inmates. But, he kills his own son because he tried to make more money from bribes. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

One of the best Tamil movies ever. Another perfect movie from Mari Selvaraj. A movie that has a similar message like Pariyerum Perumal, but narrated in a different setting with a completely new story in a political world. Right from the first shot to the end, Mari draws parallels to the happy/tragic world using a little pig, dogs & small things, akin to his first movie. Stellar performances from the cast, especially Vadivelu and Fahad Faasil who've given the best performances of their lives. AR Rahman's music is at its peak here, this being his best performance in the last few years. His songs meld with the movie at appropriate times in perfect situations and most of the songs are used as background tracks which enriches the story. Mari Selvaraj is a hidden gem. If only he was in Hollywood, he would've been truly appreciated. The only negative reviews are from the high caste people who want everyone to ignore the atrocities committed by their own groups. A mistake can only be rectified when it is acknowledged, and it's high time for it, since every year we still hear about such tragic events happening in our country.

An amazingly refreshing movie, unlike the usual masala flicks that plague the Tamil film industry. A pychological thriller, a genre that is not even considered by the Indian film industry at all, with some neat twists, thrilling and emotional scenes. Pros: Great performances by the main cast(Irfan, Vikram, Roshan and Meenakshi are excellent), especially Vikram continues to amaze us with his acting. Great music by ARR. While Adheera song is awesome and fits the tone perfectly, the bgm is a bit inconsistent in some scenes and not at his usual level. Great screenplay & direction, which is highly unusual for an Indian movie. Cons: A tacked on love story that adds nothing to the movie except a few boring scenes. Robo Shankar's comedy scenes make it difficult to watch. Conclusion: A bit lengthy due to the romance and comedy scenes, but a movie well worth watching. The director makes his mark with another amazing thriller after Imaikka Nodigal

One of the best movies of the year. But brutally gory. Not for kids under 18 Casting is awesome. This is among Keerthy's best performance, along with Mahanati(unlike her usual bad/overacting). Selvaraghavan plays his role so effortlessly, makes you feel he fits the role perfectly. Minor characters also do enough to carry their own weights. Direction is awesome, though a bit gruesome. Definitely not to be watched with kids under 18. SPOILER: The story is a mix of Kill Bill and I spit your grave. Only difference is that it's Indianized with a family added on to the woman

A decent movie with flaws, but a good message. About the message: We live in a world which is very prejudiced and self righteous. The movie asks you to have an open mind and look at things differently. And almost everyone who calls the message as bad, will do the same thing when put in a situation as the main character. Cast: pretty mediocre with several bad actors, except the main girl. But this could be overlooked since this is a low budget movie. Story: pretty unique and a bold one. No one dares take a story with a stand like this especially in Tamil cinema. Screenplay: a lot of cliches which are called as twists. Almost all of the twists are already seen in Tamil movies decades ago. Conclusion: It's a rare movie from a girl's point of view, a girl who has had a different childhood and and has a different perspective on life. A movie which will be hated by many, since the girl's POV is not widely accepted, and everyone thinks that their own opinion is always right. PS (spoilers): Similar movies have been made with a male character; kaadhal kondaen, manmadhan, etc. And the lead was always praised as a hero. This is a must watch film. The story is not the usual terrorist-cop movie, but with an Indianized twist of what a normal Muslim in India goes through. Direction is top-notch, with some great emotional scenes and unexpected twists. But, there are a few minor cliches which could have been avoided. Music - There are no notable great songs, but the background score is amazing and keeps up with the pace of the movie. The casting is pretty good especially, Gautam Menon and Vishnu Vishal who played their roles really well. Vishnu Vishal's performance is the main highlight in this film. I've always perceived him as an average actor, but he has been exceptional here, especially in emotional scenes. This is one of the best Tamil crime-thrillers in recent times, a genre which is usually overloaded with cliches.

A borefest that glorifies alcoholism, and the organisations that make alcohol and thrive by it. Makes you wonder whether kingpins like Vijay Mallya were the main sponsors of the movie. And they go on to advise you and try to project a view that they are better humans than the cops and other social workers. Amazing performances from Vikram and Bobby makes you bear with the weak script in the first half. But, the main character Dhruv, who is chosen just because of his surname, completely spoils the second half with his overacting. Santosh, as usual, copies music from various languages(movies and video games) and melds them into one. If you're here because of Iraivi and Jigarthanda, then stop. Those were Karthick Subbaraj's best movies and this is his worst
