Perfect if you're brand new to the Pokemon series and are looking for a fun start. Graphics (for a Pokemon game) are fantastic and the storyline is a very traditional Pokemon adventure. If you're experienced with Pokemon, I'd give this a miss. The whole iconic gameplay has been dumbed down to accommodate new players. Staple mechanics have been either simplified or ignored completely. Most of the game can be completed with little to no grinding, oneshotting almost every encounter. The game revolves around a 'wild zone' which stretches most of the map. Most of the gameplay in this area feels like a safari zone minigame that takes up most of the time playing. Id much rather explore a long linear map rather than an expansive battlefield where I can get whited out by accidentally crossing a bridge not meant for me.
