I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who is upset and disappointed. My four year old was so excited to see the movie and it looked like it would be a feelgood, cute movie. It is not. They touch on topics and behaviors that are not appropriate for little kids. I was uncomfortable with my four year old seeing the girls in the movie objectify boys, practically drooling over them, lying to the mom so they could go to a concert they were clearly told not to go to, putting her friends before her family, the mom discussing menstruation, the anger and violence displayed by the mother - portraying her as a literal monster
I am pretty open minded and try to take all opportunities to teach my girls, but I was completely not prepared to have my four year old exposed to a lot in the movie. I can’t believe I now have to screen Disney cartoons before my toddlers watch them. I feel disappointed and betrayed by Pixar and Disney. I understand their target audience might be different but the trailers and rating are completely misleading.
