Was this movie specifically made for people of colour, I'm confused? I went into this movie with no knowledge of the previous films. I expected a standard horror film, with typical slasher mystery vibes. Oh my tho, that was not the case. I’m not white, nor am I American. However, my god, after 5 minutes I genuinely felt sorry for anyone who is white. It’s not edgy or different like they try to make it out to be, it’s plain cringe. Do you think white people are so oblivious? Every time you try to get into the film, you just get pulled out every five minutes to just let you know that white people are the sole problem with the world. It’s honestly like a 16 year old who likes chai lattes with BLM in her bio wrote this film. All you sense from it is pure hate and aggression like a little kid throwing a tantrum. Why can’t you use your platform to include political undertones but encourage equality at the same time. Make the candy man kill anyone who’s done something wrong to them regardless if they’re white, my god. The candy man can help all races. It doesn’t mean you have to ignore the history, but make it honest. You’re not sending a message when you insult a whole race every 10 minutes. Do these writers and directors not realise that more than 50% of people who watch your film are most likely white ?. All I could do was put my head down and feel genuinely sorry for the white people who viewed this film, it must suck in 2021 where equality is forced down your throat, but they somehow make the most racist movie possible. To top it off, the ending was awful and honestly, just a lie. I don’t understand how we got to that point at the end. The police officers were made to be automatic spineless pigs. How intrinsically evil do you think white people are to just shoot the protagonist because his black and then goes to try and bribe the other witness to act like nothing happened because she was black. If you can find a modern example of this, please, let me know for gods sake, I would love to see it. It’s hypocritical to it’s core.
