This was the best of the original series versions and this update is extraordinary. The story is classic but not crude. The dialogue is simple but does not talk down or sound stupid. The sets are rich and elegant. The very best part is to see Patrick Stewart recreate his wonderful role with all the grace, charm, dignity and talent after 40 years and to bring us the aged but unbowed Capt Picard
