I remember playing Just Cause 2 and 3 and having immense fun with them, they were both set beautiful open world with plenty to do and a sense of limitless freedom and imagination, I can firmly say 4 is nothing special, it doesn't really improve on anything from its predecessors and arguably regressed in some areas, although the first few hours were fun exploring the map and having fun with the mechanics, the gameplay quickly dries out, the story line isn't engaging and missions feel very repetitive with it feeling as though there are only a handful of unique missions, they pretty much just removed the liberation part which was arguably the best part of the past games and replaced it with a boring squad system that results in the players actions feeling pointless, characters feel flat and I found it difficult to connect to any of them in any way, as a result there's nothing to make you care about or want to play the story at all, but where the game truly falls short is how shallow the sandbox aspect feels, within the first day of playing the game I had already recaptured half the map and it felt like I had already experienced most if not all that the game had to offer, its a large open map with great landscapes and graphics but other than that, the game world just feels hollow and empty and hard to be immersed in, the main selling point of the franchise is the ability to do anything with your grappling hook, glider, boosters and wires but with the new upgrades and customization with these mechanics they just feel unpolished and after a while feel like things to distract you from the fact that there's really not much to this game, the game is just not fun, it doesn't feel that the developers put no effort into the game but it does feel like they put no effort into giving the game any charm and life, literally nothing sticks out about this game except for how bland and copy and pasted it feels, with the previous 2 games the liberation of cities and your freedom were unique and interesting but this game provides nothing of that sort, every single game in the franchise that came before this had more replay value than this game has any play value at all, there's literally no reason to buy and play this game, if youre looking to enjoy the chaos and freedom of the franchise, please just play the other games
