Excellent job by all parties. Even the music is terrific.

First, Michael Mann is a genius. Known for “Miami Vice” and “Crime Story” (my personal favorite) on television and for more than just a few theatrical projects, his distinctive style is showcased beautifully with this one. Ok, with that said, this is probably one of his best...right up there with “Heat” and after fifteen years it still holds up. The cinematography and music are perfect, the writing and pacing exactly right and both leads exercise their true talents. And the supporting players...ALL of them...hit all the right notes. The only bad part is the ending and by that I mean it’s too bad it had to end. I guess you could say I really liked this film. Thank you, Mr. Mann.
