Flat acting, poor scripting, unbelievably whiny and pedantic characters. Once the characters begin "moving forward" with their grief and development they suddenly reverse for no apparent reason. It finds itself at the same time trying to tell the story of Supernatural and The O.C. and the themes clash entirely. The acting (with the exclusion of the elder teacher and the young boy) is so jarringly bad that I can't focus on the plot of the show for more than 15 seconds before being disrupted with a "How in the hell did these people get put in front of a camera" thought completely derailing everything. Additionally, the passage of time throughout the whole show is nonsensical and lacks an actual understanding of how story progression even works. The villains are so bland and predictable literally nothing they did surprised me. The lack of logical or even intelligent thinking on the part of the protagonists leads to these one sided stunningly cliche moments wherein the villain says something like "You may have almost won today, but I still got what I wanted so excuse me while I vanish into thin air." In the meantime, one or the other of the actors attempts to portray a terrified powerless character in such an unconvincing and monotone manner that I end up laughing to tears over the performance than actually feeling the weight of the heroes' brain dead defeat.
