Fascinating writing..full of amazing questions to ponder upon. It teaches you how to ask questions about human history. And shows you how the geographical location and early domestication of species had a great impact on history and how it unfolded in this way. It requires concentration and a bit of critical thinking to absorb the knowledge. A lengthy book but high density of knowledge per page, examples and speculations. Some of the hypothesis are streached but it's okay. Historical events look unpredictable from present but obvious if we look in past.... Highly recommend it...if you love history of humans from hunter- gatherer to early states around the globe. More focused on Africa aboriginal Australia and South East Asia . If you love history give it a try.
