Rosa McGuire – Google

I love Clint Eastwood movies and though somewhat flawed this is worth seeing through the end as painful as it may be at times. The writing, directing and acting suffer immediately as the setup for the story lacks energy. The “you owe me” part was a tad weak and could have used something more. But one of the saddest parts is when Mr. Eastwood wants us to believe the beautiful sexy young woman who plays the boy’s mother wants to seduce him and is actually angry when he rebukes her. He’s still handsome for his age but this was asking too much of us. He should have let casting bring in someone else for the part. No offense but someone maybe 30 years younger. Still old enough to play a grandfather part but young enough for us to believe the scene. Also the fights with the tough guys. Really? He gets the best of them? In a part of Mexico where he would have more likely been shot and buried? I haven’t read the story this is based on but it just was too much even for a sucker for feel good movies like me. Still I would recommend watching. It does have its moments. I just hope this isn’t the last role for Mr. Eastwood and that his next is more suitable because he can still bring me in.
