The story was well-written with a hint of mystery and erotica. Although some bed scenes were a bit repetitive, it was enjoyable nonetheless. Since I haven’t read the book, I can’t say if it reaches the expectations or not but I must say it’s a great series to binge!

I watched it for Michelle Yeoh not gonna lie. But when you got The Michelle Yeoh for your cast, you do great things. Not this mundane, cliché Cinderella story which does not represent the Chinese at all, let alone us Asians. I can’t speak for the book as I haven’t read it. But throwing in famous Asian comedians for publicity and Hollywood-sy dialogues is a boo. The only good thing was Astrid character who was actually empowering and in-depth.
