Joaquin Phoenix is utterly amazing as Joker. If he doesn’t win an Oscar, there’s no justice. If you’re expecting action and special effects, you’ll be disappointed. The man in the seat in front of me fell asleep and snored, so obviously it wasn’t what he was expecting! The acting and story are both superb and I loved it from start to finish. However, I’m not a great fan of violence and did have to shut my eyes at certain points. I’m not convinced that this should be a 15 rating but it’s the best performance I’ve seen for a long time.
