Has anyone who claims to be such a massive fan of Witcher read the 7 stories written in 1970s and not just the books? Understanding the historical and cultural context in which books were written, allows to see the references to Slavic myths as well as the social atmosphere of the postwar period. The series made by people who do not understand that, loses its depth and character. It just became another storytale. If i didn't see how much potential was lost, I would have voted higher because the dynamics between characters and the scenography is well made. But I am, and that makes a whole lot of difference.
Slow action, nothing like the dynamics of the stories, kinda bearable in the beginning, a pain to watch by episode 6
Poor CGI combat scenes.
Magic is used inconsequentially to the literature, there is a reason to it that is not explained well.
Mages of power, knowledge and wisdom are downgraded to sword making and lunatics. Do you not see the allegory of the 2nd ww, where white magic and rules are now met with no rules and no limits of total war brought by black magic?
-The whole series overdramatised and made inauthentic in a version of a fantasy world that in books aims to be an alternative past, make us reflect.
Actors were doing ok, well selected cast and scenery and kinda convincing CGIs of scenery and monsters. Rubbish recording of voice in studio, "plastic is fantastic", losing the depth of the scenes.
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT.
