I had never heard of this movie, so I decided to give it a try. It was on at 4:30 am on TCM. After the first 15 minutes, I wondered when the purpose of the film would become apparent to me. I kept watching, hoping it would reveal its deep meaning to me, but it never came. It was like a train wreck that you are horrified by and yet could not turn away from. After reading some of the reviews and interpretations, I wondered what I had missed. I may need some time to ponder the social and societal messages baked into this strange and deeply disturbing film.

I never watched the show, but when I saw what it was about, I immediately thought it sounded exactly like The Big Chill. I just watched The Big Chill again for the first time in years. There’s a line in it I never heard before about “a million little things.” They must’ve gotten the name of the series from that line. It’s just too much of a coincidence.
