I have to say that the review I wrote below was based on Episode 1. It's accurate but only for episode 1. Starting from Episode 2 the series is enthralling and truly well made. Seems they changed the director. Good call!! It's been awesome to watch the rest. Hope they renew the series!
Poor, unimaginative and lazy Directing. Mediocre cinematography and shots. Slow glacial pace. Less than average casting. Undermined what was a well funded and could have been an exhilarating show. A huge disappointment. Apple needs to change the Director.
The only good thing is the CGI
Im going to make a list of some of the underwhelming moments:
When Gaal enters her quarters her room is at the end of the corridor but once entered the window is on the left when it should be facing forward. Rookie Director.
Tribunal of Cleon of XIII - unimpressive hall - everyone on the same level- even Grand Central would have been a better venue than the back wall which is actually the exit with a cheap low lying facade of the hall the Director chose. More like rehearsal and not the actual play. Looks like they had 2 cameras. No close ups of the tense moments.
Some of the costumes in the general population eg of the terrorists area like they were current day building workers. Just look at Raych's costume it's a throwback
