The trend nowadays in history and historical movies is to focus on the individual experience. Forget that, history is about the major events that happened and this is what midway accomplishes versus the “Saving Private Ryan” type of film. The scale of midway is ambitious and you can sit back and watch the chess pieces move. Midway hits all cylinders for those who ever enjoyed playing a strategy game in any context. 👍🏽
