#VadaChennai Gangster/Crime films often highlight the life of a crime figure or a crime's victim(s). Or they glorify the rise and fall of a particular criminal(s).. Usually set in large, crowded cities, to provide a view of the secret world of the criminal and has dark nightclubs, showcase extreme vulgarity and blood stained back alleys.. #VadaChennai comes as a definition for gangster film in Tamil cinema.. Plot revolves around a carrom board player caught in a 3 decade rivalry and it's impact in the lives of Characters.. #Vadachennai is Raw , Realistic , Rusty and Revengeful 💥💥💥💥 The movie doesn't play by the usual rules of tamil cinema. Cuss words are used just like that. Doesn't seem odd. It looks rather natural. North madras has been replicated on screen. The entire movie is paced slow and steady. Jail life is the major part in 1st half.. kudos to the detailing about smuggling inside jail.. Haven't seen a movie dat portrays the politics inside a jail with such authenticity. Predictable yet terrific interval block.. With an ensemble cast and a non linear narration , its seems a bit difficult for us to cope up with d film in 1st half. 2nd half gets to core story and speaks about land politics similar to kaala..The entire movie gives the feel of reading a novel.. Characters are shown as victims of circumstances.Only the ending seems bit clichéd.. Director #Vetrimaaran has turned his vision into an epic saga.. From now on he may be called as Master storyteller 🎥 He has redefined the tamil cinema from time to time with his films like #Polladhavan , #Aadukalam and #Visaranai.. With an array of great actors , each have their own mass moments.. #Dhanush glitters as Anbu. We can see him grow on screen 🙌 Its a delight to watch him .. #AishRajesh 👌👌👌👌 electrifying performance. Her language is currently the talk of town.. #Ameer as Rajan looks mass.. #Andrea does a meaty role.. #Kishore , #Samuthirakani and #Pawan stand as pillars to the film.. Cinematography is worth mentioning. BGM sets the tone for mass scenes.. #SaNa is going places.. #VadaChennai - is an unadulterated adult film with cult status on the way.. It sets the base for a great trilogy.. May be called as THE GODFATHER of Tamil Cinema..💟💟💟 Definitely not for children ✌️ Rating : 4.5/5

#Thadam : spoiler free Mystery movies being my cup of tea , watched #Thadam on day 1 and am not disappointed.. #ArunVijay and #MTM ( Magizh thirumeni ) has joined hands for the 2nd time and the output is better than their first venture. Plot is about a murder , and two suspects each with a perfect alibi.. The movie starts off with an interesting opening sequence , but then goes on establishing the lead characters in an extensive way. Romantic portions needs a little trimming.. Once the characters gets introduced , the real movie starts and the first half ends with a solid interval. Second half has some flashback portions that might test our patience. But the last 20 minutes is what worth the wait👍👍 Inspired from true incidents , the director narrates the story in a way that keeps us engaged throughout. The movie even seems flawless if u keep logics aside. He has evolved from his previous movies (thadayara thaaka ,Meaghaman ) and given his best. He has done a neat groundwork.. #ArunVijay is in top form. He chooses scripts wisely. He is an underrated actor who needs recognition and this movie ll be the one to garner it.. #VidyaPradeep , #FepsiVijayan and #YogiBabu have done their job well.. Except for #Inayae song , rest r ordinary. BGM has worked in places. Pre-interval action block in police station needs special mention.. #Thadam - The best thriller of 2019 (so far). Nothing has changed since ages when it comes to caste in India.. Discrimination based on caste is traditionally rooted in hinduism.. In spite of ppl claiming that it's long gone, its still in practice in the name of tradition.. It has gone even far in the name of (dis)honour killing ( ஆணவக்கொலை). #PariyerumPerumal is a sensational movie on a sensitive subject , which is genuine and utterly brilliant.. It explores in-depth about inequality, life of oppressed people and honour killings.. What makes the movie so lovable ?? It is neither preachy nor melodramatic.. When two hearts fall for each other out of true love, caste comes in-between rather than breaking up it goes to the extend of killing lives.. The biggest irony is all discrimination happens inside a law college.. #PP beautifully brings out the difficulties faced by upper caste.. Even if they r willing to accept , the r being chained by the society and relatives.. Hope this movie breaks that chain.. The opening scene stands out as the best ever emotional sequence u ll ever see.. From their u get totally involved in the film, u start to feel the pain , some even feel ashamed.. Climax - ❤️❤️❤️💝💝 A poetry.. Being optimistic and moving ahead with education as the tool ll surely light the lives of oppressed.. Director #MariSelvaraj - Has joined the elite list of best directors in his very first movie.. No scene seems unnecessary or force fitted.. There r subtle clues to depict honour killing - e.g kousalya is the name of the girl who gets hanged.. While there r directors who speak the pride of their cast, Mari questions the society about treating fellow humans as unequal and harassing them in the name of caste.. Dialogues r headshot to ppl who discriminate ppl.. " Nee ena naaya nenaikura vara inga ethuvum maarathu " , " Dei thambi unnoda serthu en ponnayum konnuduvanga da " .. #Kathir - has given his soul to the movie.. He is so convincing and natural.. Amazing 👌👌 #Anandhi is pretty and looks like angel and impresses us with her innocence.. The Chemistry between the lead pair is pleasing.. #YogiBabu is not just a comedian but a true actor.. When he says " Naan ena da saathi patha pazhaguren ?? " , Surely ppl ll remember their friends.. #KarateVenkatesan - yaar saami nee ?? Haven't seen a 60 yr old so deadly and venomous.. His screen presence make people say " Aahaa , vanthutaanya vanthutaan ?? .. #Kathir's father character is the best one among all.. Tamil cinema has never Witnessed such a character.. Watch out for him 💐💐 Be it the college Dean , head of the village all r so optimistic .. Last but not least if kathir is the soul #Karuppi is the body of the movie.. 💟💟💟 #SaNa is a new wave in Tamil music industry.. #SuperDeluxe : After 8 yrs of #AaranyaKaandam (the first neo-noir film of tamil cinema , an underrated movie at that time of release , later achieved much appreciation and went on to attain a cult status) director #TKR (Thiagarajan kumararaja) has come with another movie that is more dark , witty and complex than its predecessor. He has outdone himself with #Superdeluxe. #Superdeluxe seems like a hyperlink story where the characters or action reside in separate stories, but a connection or influence between those disparate stories is slowly revealed. Is that all ?? Nah!!! It's much more than that. Dir #TKR has crafted the movie in layers that peels off slowly as the movie progresses. For 3 hrs , i was in a world created by #TKR with speaks volumes about human nature , themes like porn, infidelity , transgender issues , aliens, moral values, existence of god etc etc etc.Every frame has minute details , mandating multiple viewing of the movie to grasp the core detail. His proficiency in using dark humour is world class that can be compared to movies like lock stock two smoking barrels , pulp fiction. The level of acting skills exhibited by the actors in this movie will be spoken for ages. Every actor has competed with the rest like never before. Each actor has a career defining scene. #VijaySethupathi - actor known for his versatility, has added one more feather to his crown. Has portrayed the pain of transgenders in an extremely Realistic way. Can say without doubt " Sir kku oru national award parcel 💐💐 #Samantha and #Fahad - sabash , sariyaana poatti 👌👌 Whatta performance by Sam in garage. #Mysskin - his monologue at the 2nd half is a class act . His influence on direction is seen at the subway scene in dark with flickering lights with #VJS . #Ramyakrishnan - a veteran actress gives her best after a long time esp in the hospital scene close to the climax . #Ashwanth - hats off. He ll be called as #Rasukutty from now on. His screen presence is absolutely entertaining. Tamil cinema welcomed u with red carpet 🙏🙏 #4Teenagers - seems like seeing our own gang on screen. Their names like gauge , mutta puffs are a tribute to 90's kids. #Bucks - 💥💥silent killer 💣💣 . Most arrogant cop ever seen. His swag , smile paaaaaaaaaaaaah. Performance of a lifetime 🙏 Though the length of the film is an issue , the editor has done his best effort to keep us engaged. Top notch cinematography with weird camera angles. The tone of the frames are more in blue and looks pleasant.. The BGM king #Yuvan is back . His background score is subtle at places where it has to. 90's songs are used at appropriate places. #Superdeluxe - 💝💝 one of a kind , once in a decade . An experience like never before 😍😍 Thiagarajan sir - is a gem of a director who has to be nurtured for the future of tamil cinema. #Ratsasan : Among the various genres of movies , thriller type holds a special place among audiences.. These are types of films known to promote intense excitement, suspense, a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, anxiety, and nerve-wracking tension.. Tamil cinema has come across a number of films in the name of thrillers..Very few have stayed true to its genre.. One such film is #Ratsasan.. #Mundasupatti by dir #RamKumar and #VishnuVishal , released back on 2014, garnered rave reviews for its making style and it's story.. The same combo has now delivered a solid astounding psycho thriller movie 👌👌 Dir #RamKumar took his time and has done reasonable ground work for the film.. He has given a perfect mix of all the ingredients needed for a true blue thriller.. Taking time to settle , the tension gets build up in a steady manner till interval.. No dragging in the name of love or songs.. With the second half being taut and riveting , try not to slip from the edge of your seat 🙌🙌 Gripping and totally engrossing 💥💥💥.. Though the back story seems a bit unconvincing , the screenplay will do the magic and make us ignore the drawbacks.. #VishnuVishal - an underrated hero of tamil cinema.. Whatta compelling actor !!! After a seemingly okyish romantic portions between karthi and Rakul , the screenplay takes on a fast pace and the tempo is maintained till the end.. Dheeran stands well ahead of its time becuz of its authenticity and detailed research about the story it has chosen. Police procedures have been portrayed beyond perfection..The idea of showcasing the history of Bawarias by Cartoon needs appreciation.. Coming to Karthi , he is quintessential as a cop..He is rigid, rough and also romantic👌We never see shades of #Siruthai in Dheeran.. Rakul impresses with her cute reactions.. Abimanyu_Singh as #Ohma is brutal and merciless..He stands as an example of true villain.. The film is technically strong.. In a film industry dominated by males, we rarely witness females in lead roles..That too in a movie with social message.. Aramm, a hard hitting social - political drama which never deviates from its core plot.. Taking the concept of a child accidentally slipped into a bore well , the movie raises certain questions- Is India even a developing country ?? Has developments in science and technology benefitted any common indian ?? What people can expect from corrupt politicians and slaved government officials ?? #Nayanthara as Madhivathani IAS gives a stellar performance..She needs a big appreciation for taking this role..In aramm she isn't just an actress who comes for 2 or 3 scenes , dance , some glamour scenes and disappear..She speaks politics, questions our polticial system..The way she walks with the BGM paahhh..No wonder we call her as #ladysuperstar.. All other actors are perfect in their roles.. Ghibran's background score adds tension to the scenes and makes us feel the heat..Editor Ruben's cuts are notable especially at the climax Dialogues are the pillar for this movie..One such dialogue from movie -"Democracy is not merely a form of Government. It is essentially an attitude of respect and reverence towards fellowmen"..Director Gopi Nainar after a lot of struggle has tasted success..Hats off sir.. Some might feel it to be like documentary.. #ImaikkaNodigal 2018 has been a year deficient of exhilarating thriller movies except #Irumuthirai.. Given the huge expectation for Imaikka Nodigal , does the movie live upto it ?? Let's see.. The plot is a typical cat and mouse game i.e Nayanthara is on the chase of a serial killer, played by Anurag Kashyap. Director #AjayGnanamuthu after a promising debut (#DemonteColony) comes up with a story with multiple subplots.. After a gripping start, thought its going to be a racy thriller, i fastened my seat belt 😊.. But then the director started to narrate the subplots with much detail that made people to switch over to their mobiles.. Romantic portions has been a weak link so does the songs.. Director hasnt bothered about logics esp in 2nd half.. Despite these negatives, still the movie manages to keep us curious.. Coming to the cast , the lead #Nayanthara is at the peak of her career.. Seems like nothing can stop her.. Gives her best as usual.. #Atharva and #Rashikhanna - a cute pair.. Nothing else to say.. The one guy ,the movie highly relies upon is none other than #GangsofWasseypur fame , the one and only #AnuragKashyap , an archetype psychotic killer.. Even his smile brings fear.. His screen presence brings whistles and claps in theatre 👌👌 Hats off sir.. Cinematography is decent.. BGM work by #HipHopTamizha is a major highlight of the movie.. Action sequences has nothing new to offer.. #ImaikkaNodigal had all the elements for a great thriller but let down by its length and romantic portions.. Fairly engaging one time watchable movie.. Undoubtedly one of the best debut for an actress..Such a captivating performance , esp when she gives the pre-interval monologue..#Anjali , a transgender plays a vital role and has been portrayed in very good manner..Casting is apt and awesome.. Songs and background are truly mesmerizing and blends with the movie and takes the scene to whole new level.. Cinematography by Shelly looks fresh and editing is another highlight of the movie .. Don't just stop with watching the movie.. Be the change that you wish to see in the world.. Aruvi is a fantastic cinematic experience. Get drenched and feel it..You ll love it.. Rating : 4/5
