Sara, Kanchanamala, Tessa, Sameera. Parvathy essayed these roles with a breeze, in style and substance. What more does an actor need?. It appeared as though these characters were specially sketched with her in mind. And now Pallavi. She has literally fleshed out this role with elan, perhaps her best. Requires courage to portray a disfigured face and still carry the audience.
The gory acid attack captured sensitively without pandering to mass voyeurism. Pallavi's transformation from a confident, assertive girl to losing all hope and then slowly reaching to the clouds where she wanted to be in the first place, is simply awesome. Asif is brilliant. Every look and every word his unassuming character utters - you'll hate him more. A very contrasting spurned lover from 'Sunday Holiday'!!
This is a story of toxic relationship that needs to be told and retold even if to warn of mis steps, and untoward brutalities lurking under the perfectly normal.
My take: Go for it. !!
