Bandish Bandits on Amazon Prime. Start with the theme song and it rings for ever in the ears. What a great webseries whose music was carved by the musicians Shankar Ehsaan Loy. In particular the singers were outstanding..I am still listening Viraha and the end Jugalbandi.. ' A perfect way to consume Indian Classical Music'. Watch it,.... reminds me of K.Vishwanath's Shankarabharanam from the 80's that took whole of South Indian to a new level of tuning, back then. BB is a re emergence of the same feeling in the form of a webseries, touching everyone's heart. It will rule our ears for a while. Music connects and as said by Master actor Nasiruddin Shah, a true artist brings everyone together, I say this much needed BB in such pandemic times has done the justice of bringing all of us together. It is a masterpiece at so many levels. I have seen many webseries like Narcos, House of cards to Fauda to Mirzapur and et all, while they all focus on crime,.mystery, politics etc..none can match BB as it is fresh and novel. There is music There is love There is tradition There is modernity There is complex family melodrama Ah, at so many levels one can consume this webseries. It engulfs us. With great screenplay and cinematography and actors, I am ready to see once again. In particular the darling of the show was Ritwik Bhowmik, young handsome actor, no superlatives to him of the muscle men that one sees around bollywood, but the usual next door neighbour kind, but a 100 percent serious focused actor. Every actor played their role to the best. This webseries made me proud of the great civilization I belong to . I am proud that I am born in a country that has gifted to the world something unparalleled, Sangeet Shastra. Can you think of any other culture that has gifted such complex sangeet shatra and still upholding it as it's tradition...may be a bit Italian classical music..nothing complex and close to Indian classical music, it's rigour, it's gharanas and its theories.. The webseries weaves the celebration of a tradition of music , it's schools, with all the vagaries of life such as love, breakups, aspirations, duties and pain. A must see for all and it's these kind of webseries we must export to the rest of the world.

It started well but honestly the ending was pathetic.. one could not understand the whole idea of the children's song towards the end, the bhashan by irfaan and how he would take any revenge on amrita singh because he challenged her..how the hell a school bus full of bharat municipal school will reach Delhi grammar school all dressed up to perform on stage .. the screen play got screwed up at that point....seriously I could identify many flaws..I would say huge scope of improvent, especially the end part.

Finally last night I saw The Two Popes and it's just brilliant performances of the two lead actors Anthony Hopkin and Jonathan Pryce who are from two different continents, two different cultures,with totally opposite ideology, yet find a conversation to understand each other while both are trying to revive and save the Catholic Church. The dialogues are wah!!! And the acting,..... it wasn't acting at all, it's serious craft and art. One must watch this if you are looking for beauty, poetry and the art of film and narration. Ah, visually it's stunning to see the camera work. Just two actors, low budget, no action yet the Director is able to give a film to us that can hold an attention of a different kind leading us to believe there is something called civilised dialogue to understand the OTHER opinions, especially when the world over what one witnesses is noise as voice
