I’m an orthodox Jewish women who couldn’t love my life more! My family , friends, community and I all lead happy fulfilling purposeful busy and productive lives. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. I am an active member of my community and a business owner of a successful international company to boot. While there maybe flaws in our communities, show me a society that doesn’t have one! My unorthodox life so unfairly portrayed true Jewish orthodox lives. Shame on Netflix for producing the show with out checking all the facts and seeing the full picture. Julia haart portrays herself as a manipulative narcissist who is also a hypocrite. She claims to stand for freedom and to be the one who broke out of the box but yet forces her children into a new box of what she wants them to be. Her poor son Aaron sees both sides and chooses to stay orthodox yet she cries bitter tears over it! Nothing can be sadder than the way she manipulates her children and son in law.(poor poor binyamin, trying to stay true to himself but time and again forced by Julia to do it her way) Nothing can be farther from the truth that the lies she spews about the communities of the Jewish orthodoxy. Uneducated? Orthodox Jews are respected and know for being sharp headed,on the ball and fully functioning members of society. Jewish people are known as intellects we study and pursue wisdom as part of our religion. Where does uneducated fit in to that? In fact, the elementary school I attended was recognized by the state for its superior level of education- and it caters towards ultra orthodox. Shame on Netflix for allowing lies to be spreads and shame on Julia Haart for ripping a community she knows is full of good.
