If I could give zero I would. I'm still scratching head wondering how this movie was ever made. Honestly, this film is just the worst . I watched it because Nicholas cage was in it... but made fatal mistake of failing to read reviews .
Follows a pilot (Nicola cage) who is chartering a plane to London...before departing he meets his daughter for a "heart to heart" about family life bla bla bla.
It then follows daughters life on the ground and his life flying the plane. Then.....half way through film suddenly all the kids and millions of adults around the world just disappear.
It makes a loose reference to religious prophecy of good going to heaven and the rest will be left behind ... but seriously... what? It's just thrown into the film ... randomly. People start to panic .... one lady freaks out and pulls a gun on other passengers demanding they give her child back ... but you can't help but laugh at how awful the scene is... like the entire film ... it's just awful.
Then it's all about the thrilling plane flight that suddenly has to return to JFK. Normal, highly predictable "Thrill" scenarios ... plane hits another plane ... damaged wing and losing fuel.... nowhere to land upon returning. In steps daughter on ground to find new landing strip and save day.
Plane approaches .. lands .. stops 2 inches from a highly flammable lorry ... end of film.
Honestly .... such a weird pointless film. Action seems are awful and clearly thrown in out of desperation to keep the audience awake. The vanishing ppl leaves you scratching head wondering if somebody made a mistake and dropped a film script from another movie into this one ??
I've read some of the reviews and I'm in disbelief that anybody has a single positive point about the film?
I could go on .. but I've already lost couple hours of my life ... please don't make the same mistake... I can only assume Nicholas cage did this film as an April Fools joke
