Terrible! ! David chase should stick to this storyline as a show. He can’t quite write for film. His characters need time to develop and it seemed rushed. I was sooooo bummed as someone who watches the entire series yearly because it is so well done. Bad casting as well, moltesanti’s dad Alessandro Nivola can’t capture you and make you root and love the bad guy like James did. I actually hated him and the way he played that character. James Gandolfinis son should’ve been the main focus as he was excellent and definitely was the only believable character. Ray liotta as a twin in prison is trying to hard to bridge the gap of subtlety and create an unnecessary voice of conscience we saw in Tonys dreams. It reminded me of a cheesy mafia sitcom that without the f word would be on ABC or the late WB. I wanted to see a movie about the mob in jersey during the 60’s not race wars WE get enough of that daily on the news now. I’m alll for equality and I love movies that preach that. But this is a mob world and a mob movie it’s not what I went to see this movie for. I wanted to see how Tony become Tony Soprano and it didn’t deliver that. Lastly how old are Silvio and puss ? They look 40 just not believable and ray liottas first attempt at a character richer than the made guys ???? Garbage
