Having traveled through Asia (recently), and knowing people who backpacked through the area depicted in this series in the 1970s, I found this story compelling and fascinating. After binge watching it over two days, I'm watching it again to pick up details. It's important to pay attention, because as others have mentioned, it jumps back and forth in time.
Highly interesting on a number of levels, including psychologically and amazing settings. Especially compelling because it's based on a true story.
