I thought the first episode was pretty well-done--the world has changed so much since the last game was played, and it's important to talk about what's been going on. I usually enjoy Phil's comments, but thought he really missed the boat with his comments on the issue of racial injustice. By claiming the longstanding epidemic of police brutality against people of color amounts to "a few bad apples," he ignores the entrenched institutional racism that is so prevalent in so many police departments (not to mention other institutions). It is highly insulting and insupportable, and Phil is smart enough to know better. Brandon's comments may have been a little over the top, but he was not far off. His was the clearest, most honest voice of the bunch. Thank you Brandon.
