When i saw CJENM was producing the series 'When the stars gossip' i was sure i was going to watch it, and it's going to be a memorable series. I was not disappointed. With a unique background - space travel , the equipment, zero gravity environment, dramatic and anxiety ridden scenes, and a little bit of turbulent romance - it was a rollercoaster ride till the end. And the ending , which not many anticipated was without any drama and as Subtle as a bubble settling on a leaf. CJENM didn't disappoint. The director was absolutely in control of every scene. It was a treat to watch the series with veteran actors, life like sets and chiseled dialogues.

One of the best kdramas i had come across. Subtle in its approach, subtle performance, dialogues and a very unique approach to life, death and the floating in between. Actors, direction , light settings.... Everything is beautifully done aesthetically.

I decided to watch the movie because of the two young lead actors, without knowing what was in store for me. Honestly, I'm surprised that in this century, there are movies as mindless and meaningless as Exhuma. Typical horror movie stuff like darkness, shadows, ghosts, centuries-old corpse ... God, that was something I didnt anticipate. But then, its my fault that i didnt check on the theme, director, production company.... My question is, why would the top actors accept a movie lije this.

Beautiful and with substance. Just finished watching Dear Hyrie. That was a breath of fresh air after treacly sweet kdramas, end to end encrypted with the mandatory formula. Watched the 8 episodes in two days and sat there with overwhelming emotions. The lack of formula and an open-end-last-episode were quite beautiful. Her wonderfully soft voice, his disappointment, the other one's optimism and the reality of the story - all are fascinatingly controlled by the director and the script writer. I needed this after so many kdramas with mind numbing cliché, and actors depicting the same characters, spewing same dialogues and finally, having the same ending.

The missing star is because of the elusive ending. Exceptional acting, direction and BMG. However, the ending was deliberately obscured, to please both the logical ones who wanted a scientific explanation and the illogical group who preferred a supernatural ending. And surprisingly, both were put in a single bag by the story teller, allowing each audience to pick what they wanted. Clever. But for me, that part was shoddy and irresponsible on the part of the writer. Camera work, dialogues, control over the scenes etc made it a cut above the commercial movies. But the last few minutes were a let down.

Very tightly knitted with not much room for loose ends. Crisp direction, not more than enough dialogues, secrecy till the last episode. Just not happy with her not take revenge on her senior professor and his arm candy who got the position... He he he.

Quite unique from the run of the mill kdramas. Actors are absolutely controlled, theme new and engaging. Basically, started with the series because of my fav actor, Son Sok Ku (and he didn't disappoint. Neither did he disappoint in his series Be Melodramatic and the movie Nothing Serious), but the pace and content kept me going. Would there be a new season?

Nothing special about it. Another action series with double crossing people, people with killer addiction, unbelievable techno-overload, a boy who looks 14 ( I couldn't believe he was 28!!), a girl who can fight like, think like a veteran gang member, an uncle who is the main character of the series, but dies in the first episode and much more things you don't see in real life - at least not in the life of ordinary people like me. There is another season coming, of 8 episodes. Like The Glory, this also can't stand alone without answering all our questions. Why does Lee Dong Wook look this bad? Make up? Or no make up? He must be disappointed with all the glory going to his subordinates and his niece.

Very effective camera work and direction. Actors did absolute justice to their characters (especially the childhood friend of the hero, the firecracker girl). And what I loved the most was the ending - so realistic. It couldn't have been any other way....

Though the show was captivating with the subtle acting, direction and the general air of professionalism, by the end of the story, I realised that there is no point in the whole 16 episodes of the drama. What were the makers trying to tell us? Too many open ends and too many unsatisfactory wrapping up of loose ends.
