This film was overly glamorized. I lived in detroit in the 60s and the depiction of the black community at this time was not real. It was a constant struggle. As for the acting Jennifer was in over her head. Arthrea was a inner city black child who struggled against her family men and fame. The best scenes were the singing scenes. Arthrea was a treasure but Jennifer was not capable acting wise to bring it home. It was decent summer entertainment watch the documentary
